Monkeying Around at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium!

We had a roaring good time at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium on May 6th!  We were fortunate enough to help plan a dual 60th birthday and 30th anniversary party for a fantastic couple.  Getting down to our animal instincts, this event was nothing short of amazing.  As if the venue itself wasn’t cool enough, we were able to really spice things up.  With a vibrant color palette of purples, greens, blues, and oranges, it was a feast for the eyes!  With animal prints all around, it felt like you were dining right in the middle of the jungle.  Oh, and did we mention that we had an amazing caricaturist turn them all into animals?!  The animal drawings incorporated their hobbies and careers and even resembled facial characteristics!  We were able to incorporate these fabulous photos into the invites, the table cards, and so much more!

The night started off with cocktail hour taking place around the aquarium tanks, giving guests the chance to monkey around while enjoying the signature tropical drinks of the night, which were prepared in tiki huts.  Guests came prepared in their safari gear and were even able to hang out with some real live animals, such as snakes and penguins.  The guests were then able to enjoy dinner in the main aquarium, which went swimmingly! In fact, we had a stingray steal the spotlight by greeting the guests and waving to them as they sat down to enjoy their meals.  The tables were surrounded with palm trees, and the place settings were located atop a Monstera leaf.  After dinner, the dance floor opened up as the DJ caught everyone’s attention with a specialization in World Beats music!  As the night came to a close, guests were presented with safari animal cupcakes – talk about a tasty treat for their trek back home!

So, if you could be any animal, which would you choose?  Would you consider a jungle theme for your next soiree?

Can you spot the resemblances between the photo’s below?

Thanks to our amazing caricature artist, Jeff Lavezoli, for really bringing out their inner animal!!
